Austin and Kayla met back in High School. They talked a little bit back then but it was nothing more than that at the time. During Kayla’s freshman year in college they rekindled (little over a year ago). They grew up in a really small town in Florida called “Bushnell.” Everyone knows everyone, our dad’s were actually best friends in school. They attended the high school we went too as well.
“When I saw how beautiful she was on the inside I knew she was the one.” -Austin
“I think I knew Austin was the one fairly quickly. I remember telling my Nana after maybe the 6th date he was the man I was going to marry. Austin is so old fashion, he reminds me so much of my dad. He always picked me up for dates, brought me flowers, and texted me first lol.”- Kayla
Austin took her to a fancy restaurant to propose on July 1st, 2017, but he said he was too shy and couldn’t bring my self to ask her in front of a bunch of people, so as soon as they got home he got on one knee and asked her if she wanted to spend forever with him.
Why did you both decide on Colorado for your destination wedding?
Gosh, I don’t even remember. I just remember saying I wanted to go to Colorado, and I got the crazy idea of having my wedding here. Somehow Austin agreed. Originally, he was all for the traditional wedding setting. Which really isn’t me. I don’t do well with handing stress. I couldn’t imagine throwing some huge wedding and wasting so much money on one, when I could go somewhere new.
Congratulations to Kayla and Austin on your wedding day! They got married at Sapphire Point Overlook all the way from Florida. We even took a trip up the ski life in Breckenridge to get a few shots to end their beautiful winter elopement in Colorado. Thank you so much for having me a part of your day!
