Baby Lincoln | Colorado Newborn Lifestyle Photos

Oh sweet baby Lincoln. Your mommy & daddy have been praying for you for as long as I’ve known them and more. Such a true blessing you are to your parents and I was so excited to hear about your arrival into this world. The plan was to photograph you at the hospital after you were born but life has other plans at times. So happy to hear you are growing so beautifully and that your amazing parents are rocking parenthood!

Here are some beautiful photographs of your Baby self, with all the baby love including lots of love from your fur siblings, Mia & Paisley. I can’t wait to work with your sweet family as you grow. Geoff and Andrea you guys got a heartbreaker on your hands 😉 Such a cutie! Thank you for not just being my clients but friends.

Wedgewood Black Forest Colorado Wedding | Daisy and Dominick Tapia

Daisy and Dominick’s Colorado story: We both worked at a dealership here in the Springs. We are HUGE car people. We love cars, we love racing cars, etc. So I had found out he had the same car as I do which is a rarity! He had a 1988 Crx and I had a 1989 Crx. I went down to his end of the dealership one day to find it sitting there so I walked around it and took a few pictures out of excitement for just seeing another like mine. I found out later it was his and we started talking from there!

Dominick actually proposed in our kitchen a few days after our 3rd anniversary. The ring he had ordered didn’t come in on time so he couldn’t do it on the day he intended. He welded together a little figurine that looks like a little guy holding a heart. It’s made out of all car parts and the main part is a piston from the first motor that we built together. He made that figure’s head open up and that which revealed my ring! So it is basically my ring box and it sits on my desk at work now.  Dominick wrote out a letter and had me read that first and then at the end the letter told me to open it and there it was! I turned back around and he was on his knee :] “

Ah! I was so happy to hear how they met one another and how their common love for cars turned into an amazing relationship. Their wedding was held at Wedgwood at Black Forest here in Colorado Springs, CO and it was amazing! The cake is from Nothing Bundt Cakes and did you see the cute cake toppers? Super fun and overall it matches their love and personalities! Check out the vendors as they all did an amazing job! We still have Colorado Wedding Booking dates available if your needing a photographer then I’d love to chat with you. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Tapia! Check out a sneak peek into their colorado wedding gallery.

Reynolds Family| Bear Creek Nature Center Family Photo Session

Reynolds family.

Oh this sweet family we went to Bear Creek nature Center here in Colorado Springs. And man it was a frosty morning. We didn’t realize how cold it would’ve been so we walked toward the sun so their son could warm up! His 3rd birthday was coming up so we did some images of just him on his own. And it wasn’t planned to have the whole family hop in but WHY NOT! He is such a smart kid and they had so much fun playing in what was left from the fall leaves last fall.

Hope you had an amazing 3rd birthday and who knows maybe i’ll see you in 2018!

Thank you so much! And can I just say how much I love how much fun they had with all that cold weather we had that morning! They rocked it out of the freezing temps for sure. So happy to have been there to photograph you all together and to remember his 3rd birthday.

Ute Valley Park, Colorado Springs | Fleming Family

You’ll probably see a lot of blog posts in the coming weeks from 2017! Being like many of you holding more than one hat (mom, wife, friend, entrepreneur, photographer, cosmetologist) I have been forgetful to post some images from each of those sessions! So i’ll be doing that so bear with me. 😉

Caitlin had scheduled with me so we could get some holiday photos and also update photos of her with her two kids. I absolutely love being able to photograph any parent with their kids before you know it they will be all grown up!

I want to put out there too that i recommend having at least once a year to gather your family together for updated photos. Whether that be for the holidays, during the summer time or a family reunion. It’s so important to me that you guys have images to remember and look back on, i promise you that it’ll be worth it! There are moments where I’m like uhhh should I, do i need to do family photos of MY OWN family? YES , the answer is 100% YES.

If your in Colorado, feel free to reach out and let’s get your session scheduled! Even if your visiting from out of town.

Evergreen, Colorado Intimate Wedding | Alora and Sterling

Evergreen, Colorado has some amazing views! Prefect location for an Intimate Wedding or even an elopement! Alora and Sterling both realized that our relationship was different very quickly, we just clicked, and despite an interesting start, things were just easy. For the proposal Alora helped pick out the ring, so there wasn’t a huge surprise involved there. In fact, she knew when it would be arriving at the house, and she got it that day! haha! They said they’re perfect date would be:” Sterling doesn’t drink, and I am super into craft beer, so when we find a place with good food (for him) and good beer (for me) it makes us both pretty happy.”

We have four dogs. 2 French bulldogs, Harvey and Duchess. 1 Rottweiler, Arkose. 1 Corgi, Bella. We have an interesting mix of dogs, and they love them more than anything!!!!!! I asked them also how they decided on having their wedding in Evergreen, CO and they said “Sterling’s mom and brother both live in Denver (he lived there for a good part of his life too). We wanted something small, with family and in the mountains! So it just made sense.”

The weather was perfect super warm and a little bit breezy to help balance that out. You know typical Colorado choosing whatever it decides when it comes to weather. Alora got ready with her closest friends and family, her and Sterling both wrote out their vows surprisingly at the same time! haha. It was so nice working with them and their families. I want all my brides and their families to feel as if i’m simply another family friend there nothing intense, no crazy posing. Just you and your family doing your thing and me photographing your wedding day so you can relive the day!

Here’s what Alora and Sterling had to say about their experience with me, “Shayla photographed our recent wedding, and to say she was amazing is an understatement. We are not from the area, so we did not get a chance to get to know her personally prior to our day. When Shayla arrived we were immediately put at ease. She made our experience so comfortable; it was almost as if she could have been family. We got our album back very quickly and the photographs are stunning. You will not be disappointed!”

Thank you again for having me and many well wishes for you and Sterling!

Sapphire Point Winter Colorado Elopement | Kayla and Austin Dickerson

Austin and Kayla met back in High School. They talked a little bit back then but it was nothing more than that at the time. During Kayla’s freshman year in college they rekindled (little over a year ago). They grew up in a really small town in Florida called “Bushnell.” Everyone knows everyone, our dad’s were actually best friends in school. They attended the high school we went too as well.

“When I saw how beautiful she was on the inside I knew she was the one.” -Austin

“I think I knew Austin was the one fairly quickly. I remember telling my Nana after maybe the 6th date he was the man I was going to marry. Austin is so old fashion, he reminds me so much of my dad. He always picked me up for dates, brought me flowers, and texted me first lol.”- Kayla

Austin took her to a fancy restaurant to propose on July 1st, 2017, but he said he was too shy and couldn’t bring my self to ask her in front of a bunch of people, so as soon as they got home he got on one knee and asked her if she wanted to spend forever with him.

Why did you both decide on Colorado for your destination wedding?

Gosh, I don’t even remember. I just remember saying I wanted to go to Colorado, and I got the crazy idea of having my wedding here. Somehow Austin agreed. Originally, he was all for the traditional wedding setting. Which really isn’t me. I don’t do well with handing stress. I couldn’t imagine throwing some huge wedding and wasting so much money on one, when I could go somewhere new.

Congratulations to Kayla and Austin on your wedding day! They got married at Sapphire Point Overlook all the way from Florida. We even took a trip up the ski life in Breckenridge to get a few shots to end their beautiful winter elopement in Colorado. Thank you so much for having me a part of your day!

Colorado Wedding Anniversary | Shayonna & Shaheed

Wedding Anniversaries.

Shayonna & Shaheed will have their colorado wedding anniversary soon and it is approaching! We went to do some photos to remember another year together. Shayonna is also another photographer here in Colorado but is relocating next year. 🙁 I had so much fun working with them!

We stayed in Colorado Springs area for their photo session & of course we did sunrise! The lighting is so amazing at that time we went for it! I want you to hear from the both of them a little glimpse into their love story.

We met at our first job. A grocery store in our hometown. We had no idea we went to the same school. He was in 12th and I was in 10th grade. How did you know he/she was the “one” ? Shayonna said: I actually didn’t realize he was truly the one until we broke up for a summer. Even though we weren’t together, we didn’t skip a beat. He was always there, and so sweet even when I wasn’t the sweetest to him.

Shaheed said: When she was the only one that I have ever been willing to wait for. And she called me on all my bull and made me a better person for it. He proposed to me in the living room as we were having an argument about how he was never going to propose to me. What are some things you both love to do together? Travel, go new places to eat, but mostly Netflix and chill.

Best advice for other couples out there?

Open communication, being yourself, forgiveness, being a team has made our relationship successful so far. I also think that having a friendship with your spouse is important.

Colorado Springs Family Photographer | Pardo Family

I’m always looking to connect and what better way then to know more about their experiences and plans than to hear from you, the clients, themselves! Being a Colorado Springs Family Photographer knowing your likes and dislikes will help so much prior to your photo session. I reached out to the the Pardo Family with few questions about their plans this holiday season and what they enjoy together as a family and here is what they said to the following :

What do you enjoy most with your family?

Anything you and your family are looking forward to the most this holiday season?

Any family traditions you do every year together?

What is important to you when hiring a photographer?

What advice would you give to the next family who’s in search of a family photographer?

Thank you for braving the cool temperatures and choosing me to be your photographer this holiday season! Have a great and happy holiday & Congratulations to Eduardo on his upcoming graduation!

“We enjoy just being together, but most of all we love to travel and have new experiences.

The week of Christmas we have many traditions. We drive around looking at Christmas lights in our pajamas. We get dressed up, go to the Broadmoor and then see the Nutcracker after. Eduardo and Nola go and see Star Wars We will be having a Mardi Gras themed Christmas. We get Chinese take out on Christmas Eve. We also go to midnight mass on Christmas Eve. After Christmas dinner We go to the movies.

But most of all we are excited about Eduardo graduating this holiday season. When hiring a photographer the two things I look for are reliability, I want a photographer with a good reputation. Also the photographers use of lighting.

When hiring a photographer always check their work and read all the reviews! Throw out negative comments that would not matter to you.”

Our Engagement Story- Emily and Luke

I love to hear about how you and your fiancé first met one another, how he proposed to you and advice to all future Brides & Grooms looking to plan their upcoming wedding day. Tell us your story & I’ll be there to photograph it.

You can view more from Luke & Emily’s engagement session here: Emily & Luke Engagement Photos

1.How did you two meet and how long have you been together?

Luke and I met Junior year of High School at a hockey rink back in our home town. We have been together for 4.5 years.

2.How did Luke Propose?

On December 28, 2016 luke had flown in to visit me for the holidays. Because it had been a while since we had seen each other, he wanted to do something special to celebrate. He told me that we would be going on a carriage ride downtown Indianapolis that night.

We both got all dressed up and got on the carriage. When we got on, he handed me a book that he was hiding in his coat full of pictures and cute little sayings. We began to read it together as I was holding back the tears. He had said I was reading it too fast so we stopped half way and enjoyed our ride. The driver had told us that we would be stopping half way to see the big light up tree in the middle of the circle of downtown Indianapolis. We both got out and begin to pose for a picture. As the flash went off, luke got down on one knee where he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.

I was so surprised and was not expecting it at all! Once we got back into the carriage, we finished the rest of the book. On the last page it said, emily will you marry me?

I am so happy that I have this book to always look back at and to show our kids one day. My mom, my family, and neighbors were all at home waiting for us to arrive. My mom was the only one who knew that this was happening so when I came home, everyone was in shock! It was so fun to share such excited news with the people I love the most. As for the proposal, it had deeper meaning. My father, who passed away almost 2.5 years ago, proposed the same way to my mom. The day after my proposal is my parents anniversary. It truly was such a special and meaningful way that luke could of done it!

3.Where will your wedding be & what are you both looking most forward to on your wedding day?

Our wedding will take place in Fishers, IN. The thing we are most excited about is being with all of our closest family and friends. Because we will have done long distance for 5 years at the time of our wedding, we are also excited to finally be together and spend everyday together.

4. If you both could give any advice to the next bride and groom planning their wedding day what would you tell them?

Advice that we would give to the next bride and groom getting married is start planning right away! We have found that there are more things to a wedding then we thought of and it takes a lot of time to plan. As well as, working together to compromise and understand one another on what they want. Be in the moment with the planning and do get caught up in all the small stuff. This is a day dedicated to the both of you and being with the people you love is all that matters. Be a team in the process and make it a fun and exciting experience for the both of you.

5. What advice would you both give to the future Bride and Groom once they are newlyweds?

Advice we would give to a future bride and groom once they are newlyweds is take risks and be in the moment with one another. This is your time where you both are finally able to be together. Go try new things, communicate with one another, and keep the relationship alive. It can be a crazy and scary new thing but it will be amazing doing those things together!

After this first location where we began their engagement session. I was like we need to get some fall foliage in their photo session here at Garden of the Gods as well! So I knew of another location not far from here and we headed over that way. We did have to walk a bit but they were totally up for a little bit of hiking.
